I´ve recently moved to london and am really interested in joining a band as an electric/acoustic violinist. I played in several bands in Ireland (also on bass) and would love to find people to play with here. I like all kinds of music from heavy metal to rock-indy-pop stuff. I arrange string parts for bands recording in cork and dublin and love jamming. I work in an office but am free evenings and weekends. Songwriter/guitarist looking for band in London to make it big worldwide!
I'm a 23 years old guitar player/songwriter/singer and I'm looking for drummer, bass player and eventually singer as well to start a band. The idea is this: Muse meets U2. Actually, the energy and power of muse meets the sonic experimentation of U2's POP era. (That would be a power trio playing along with sequences).
I have demos of 8 or 9 songs where I played everything myself and recorded in my homestudio in Italy (did I mention I'm from there??!), and a few more work in progress.

Musicians wanted to form Folk Punk band in Scotland
I'm looking for musicians for reform my old Folk Punk band from Brighton. I'm now based in Dundee, looking to set the band up either locally or in Edinburgh.
I'm the electric violinist (hope that doesn't put your off). I may have found a lead vocalist who will work as a front man, in the vein of John Lydon/Iggy Pop, but don't know until we can start rehersing with a band. I'm still looking for drums/bass/guitar.
The tunes I have from 3 CD's worth of material are really a starting point. I want to add more technology into the set, perhaps a DJ, electronic percussion and loops, maybe even a brass section once things are moving, who knows. .
I'd like to get the band up and running pretty quickly - just depends on finding the musicians, get a new demo recorded, and get onto the Scottish/North England gig circuit asap. Would look to doing at least Fri and Sat night gigs every week, looking towards festivals in the UK and Europe - I'd love to do Glastonbury again! I do need the members to be up for it, musically sound. Vocals need to be male, but the rest can be either - or in between I guess. Age, doesn't matter if you're up for it. I'm 31.
As for me, I've played with a number of bands in and around the UK for the past 10 years. I've also got a 1. 4kw PA system for the smaller venues. . .

I'm planning to head into the studio to make a second record in the New Year, and need a violin player able to play improvised gypsy/country style violin. Think Scarlet Rivera's playing on Bob Dylan's Desire, or Warren Ellis with Nick Cave and the Dirty Three. Your parts won't be written; you have free reign. The album will hopefully be rather stark; acoustic guitar, drums, bass, a smattering of piano. We'll do this very quick; raw and ragged. If I like your playing, I'll be willing to talk money, and, if you enjoy playing with us, hopefully you'll want to play some shows. We are a 7 piece Pink Floyd Tribute band based in Northampton, UK and have unexpectedly lost our lead guitarist (there were no explosives involved!)
We are planning to book theatres and other venues in 2006 and need to recruit a guitarist who could replicate the Gilmour sound and play the solos with passion and as close to the original as possible. We already have a rhythm guitarist lined up to work with us from January so we are looking for someone who is happy to take the lion's share of the lead work, but working alongside the existing guitarist.
There has been a lot of time and money (approximately £20k for PA, lighting and transport) invested into the project and hope that any new band member would not expect an instant income or a fixed fee per gig whilst we are trying to become established.

We have been together for over a year and have written a few what we consider to be good instrumental tracks, but need a singer to top it all off.

We often use more than just the 12 bar I-IV-V-7th chord progression. Most of our songs are 'happy blues' - up-tempo, major pentatonic.
We're doing it for fun.
Influences: Our influences are wide and varied and not restricted to the blues. But the bands' style is blues. Influences include SRV, Robert Cray, Freddie King, Fabulous Thunderbird, Kylie Age group: Any (though we're 35-50, so if you're 18 consider whether you could gig with your dad).
Sex: Any (though we're blokes).
We rehearse once a week (7pm-11pm) on a weekday (ie not weekends) in Wokingham, Berkshire (though we can change this) you need to be flexible about the day - but we'll accommodate your restrictions.
Own transport and gear essential.
